The director of one of my favorite movies of all time - Truly, Madly, Deeply - has died. RIP, Anthony Minghella.

I guess he'll always be more well known for The English Patient, (a movie I quite honestly hated), and all those Jude Law vehicles...but Truly, Madly, Deeply is a bit of sweet masterpiece. He will be missed.

i should really take photos, but i don't.

This weekend bonniegrrl and I hung out with my fam, first in Morgan Hill and then at my mom's house in Monterey for my belated bday treat..RUFUS! It was a beautiful, tiny (expensive!) "Rufus at the piano/guitar" show and we were in 4th row. I actually lucked out because I'm not that familiar with "Release the Stars" yet, but because he was solo he stuck to slightly older, off-the-beaten-path songs. I was *thrilled* to hear stuff from "Want Two", esp. my fave, "Peach Trees", which was a pretty ballsy move, especially on an acoustic guitar! He also did "Gay Messiah", which was awesome.

After that Bon and co. got in some hot tub time back at the house, which I had to pass on, coz i was still getting over the cold. (Insert sighing here).
In the morning we went for a glamour brunch at the Duck Club. What a wknd! Awesome.

Pixie on LA Ink getting laser removal. I cannot believe she did no anaesthetic for a piece that big, coz holy shit the pain is UNBEARABLE. I don't think tattooing really hurts and this hurt like a BITCH, nevermind the experience of smelling your own flesh burning like a potroast. She's a badass in my book.

This one's for Bonnie, a really cool 50's Glam Tutorial. (Well, not for Bon coz she already knows how to do this, but I thought she'd think it was cool..) And this woman rocks because she points to the colors in her palette before she applies them and holds her brushes up so you can see what size/shape she's using. EDIT: She's also a total crack-up wait til you get to the part where she's lining her lips...

My shallow vapid happy place for the day: eyeshadow tutorials on youtube! And she uses mostly MAC, so I can pretty much copy whatever she's doing. Here's my new fave, called Tainted Love. It is especially my favorite because she does not use the song "Tainted Love" in the video. Ha!
